Break Me Down

Dear God I sit here in this silence,
The deafening silence of my heart.
I try to listen but I can not hear you
Right now you seem so far.
Lord, break this silence that I have created
Please speak to me today.
My heart is meddled with all kinds of troubles
It's all I see when I pray

Break me down so I can feel you
Break me down so I can cry
Break me down so I can hear you
Break me down Father tonight.

I long to feel your presence once again
Not this unrest with in my heart
I know you are beside me in this silence
Please make me do my part
Lord I feel my heart is growing harder
Not open to Your word
Open my ears so I can hear you speaking
Please let your voice be heard.

Break me down Lord if you have to
Break me down so I can see
Break me down so I can feel you
Break me down and set me free.

Lord don't let my attitude of persistence
Turn into selfish pride
Make me aware of your mercy and of all
The tears you must have cried.

Break me down so I can feel you
Break me down so I can cry
Break me down so I can hear you
Break me down Father tonight.

1 Peter 5:6, 7
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
