Mercy and Truth in Jesus have met
When on the cross He paid our sin debt
Righteousness, peace, embraced in a kiss
Lovingkindness it walked alongside justice.
The fire of the Holy and the gentle meek Lamb
Together are One in the Great I Am
The Light so revealing leaving nothing to spare
Yielding to grace that covers each heir.
The Terrible, the Tender, they walk hand in hand
The One with the Other, intrinsically planned
The Lion so frightening, a roar to destroy
Demands pure perfection, a failure employ.
The Lamb, wooing tender, sweet whispered romance
Alluring, He beckons, His bride to a dance
Truth it uncovers our motive of heart
While mercy wraps round it with peace to impart.
A measure of holy with balance of grace
Draws us into the most intimate place
A privilege granted meeting Father and Son
Whose Spirit completes the Three, who are One.
