Time and Chance

by Kathleen Higham

Time and chance happen to all
When should the hour come?
No one can conceive the answer
Sometimes too soon for some.

Yet, God reveals His Glory
When He revives a broken soul
Everything that will come to pass
Will come when He makes us whole.

When time and chance empower us
To relinquish all our fear
For the future that consumes us
Brings the God of mercy near.

When should the hour come?
It is not for us to know
But a promise from our Savior
When at last with Him we go.

Time and chance happen to all
Not one of us can survive
Until Jesus comes inside our heart
Only then are we truly alive.

It was certainly not time or chance
That brought this humble Man
The Son of God was crucified
To fulfill His Father's plan.

This time was infinitely perfect
When Jesus took the final fall
Not by chance, not by chance
In that moment He saved us all.
