I Think Of You

by Kathleen Higham

Sometimes I think of You
When prayers are hard to find
Your Word has eluded me
And pain retakes my mind.

Sometimes I think of you
As fear turns to despair
My thoughts become unthinkable
A soul now void of prayer.

Sometimes I think of You
Falling, falling to my knees
An emptiness then claims me
My heart whispers, please.

Sometimes I think of You
Knowing You are there
But still I question foolishly
As I wonder, "Do You care?"

Sometimes I think of You
There must be more than this
A secret prayer rekindles
With unattainable thoughts of bliss.

Sometimes I think of You
When I simply cannot pray
But a Scripture lurks, touches me
Then from my lips, I say.

Sometimes I think of You
Even when I am unable to see
A sigh escapes my troubled heart
Believing, You always think of me.
