Baby Judah

by Patricia Joan Polhans

He was born only six months into
his mother's pregnancy
Tho' medical staff examined her
and found no abnormalities.

He was very much alive
just after he was born.
But, suddenly, he lay lifeless,
Not breathing anymore.

He looked so small and helpless
as he lay within his mama's hands
And she would give her life
If she could have him back again.

She looked upon his countenance
counting every finger and toe.
And as she gazed upon him
He had his brother's little nose.

Mommy had a little boy
to bounce upon her lap
And tho' he's been put to rest
It's only for a little nap.

Mamma's arms are empty
as angels came from afar
Joining with the Savior
bringing comfort to mamma's heart.

Baby Judah was born in heaven
as the angels carried him away
Where he will live with God
in heaven's nursery.

There he will be cared for
by all the angelic beings
As each one sings a song for him
From heaven's blessed symphony.

Judah became a part of heaven,
placed in God's huge family
This precious little child
whose life ended so tragically.
