Pack Your Bags

by Kathleen Higham

Pack your bags in earnest
Especially when there is strife
Pack your bags in earnest
For the trip of your life.

Pack your bags in earnest
And every sin you find
Gather them and place them
In that bag you leave behind.

Pack your bags in earnest
There is nothing you will need
Every painful vile thought
From each you have been freed.

Pack your bags in earnest
As the Lord takes your hand
The journey of amazing grace
A most perfect trip He planned.

Pack your bags in earnest
Tuck away all grief and fear
An everlastinfg peace will come
As your destination draws near.

Pack your bags in earnest
When at last you finally know
Know where you are going
The Gospel says this is so.

Pack your bags in earnest
Repenting and believing the news
Not hoping, but truly knowing
Then freely you will choose.

Pack your bags in earnest
The truth will be inside
Your bags of burden He carried
When on the Cross He died.

So, pack your bags in earnest
Then rejoice, rejoice in prayer
Traveling to the Heavenly realm
To the God who paid your fare.

Mark 1:15
Repent and believe the Good News.
