For preaching Jesus, the Jews sought to kill Paul.
They bound him, and upon a centurion he did call.
"I am a Roman; my scourging is against the laws,"
So before they scourged him, they did pause.
The next day, before him the council appeared.
Paul was brought to them, but he never feared.
Paul discussed the resurrection of the dead.
"This belief is in question," his accusers said.
Before Festus and Felix and King Agrippa, Paul came.
Through it all, he sought to exalt Christ's name.
As King Agrippa listened, he nodded his head.
"Almost thou persuadest me to be a Christian," he said.
"Almost" is never a win in the game of life.
With "almost" you lose and have to face strife.
In horseshoes, basketball, and even ping pong,
"Almost" is still part of the loser's song.
"Almost persuaded," but he was still lost.
Maybe he should have just counted the cost.
"Almost" means you still have Hell to face.
Fully trust Jesus, and make Heaven your place.
