My Lighthouse

by Margaret Cagle

In the sea of life, I was drifting away,
Far from the peaceful shore.
My debt of sin was too great to pay.
My bark strayed more and more.

One day I heard a great story
Of a lighthouse that stood on a hill.
It stands in its splendor and glory,
Beckoning, "Come, whosoever will."

Come to the lighthouse; be saved today.
Don't sink in the depths of sin.
The Lighthouse is Jesus; He is the Way.
He will give you peace within.

I turned my bark to that shining Light
That beamed from the Lighthouse of love.
He guided my soul through the dark night
And pointed me to a home above.
