How Big Was That Basket?

by Margaret Cagle

Did you read about the Apostle Paul, my friend?
Damascus' governor sought Paul to apprehend.
He wanted to stop Paul's efforts to preach
About Jesus Christ, for souls he could reach.

The Christians helped him escape that day.
It was done in a most unusual way.
Through a window in a basket, Paul went down
Over a wall, he escaped from that town.

I've often wondered about that basket's size,
And how did they do it? Did it take many guys
To lower Paul down over that wall?
Paul must have been short and not very tall.

It matters not if the basket was big or thin.
God is bigger, and He helped Paul then.
When we're faced with danger, peril, and such,
May God provide a basket with a special touch.
