Away from the brightest light I departed,
Swept away by my own ambitious devices,
Embracing the fleshly delights whole-hearted,
I heeded not the Spirit's divine advices.
Entertaining unknowingly death's seduction,
Blindly falling into the Serpent's domain,
I laid the groundwork for my own destruction,
Building the prison in which I chose to remain.
But Jesus, my Savior, had greater intentions,
His plans for me included not my demise,
Redeemed by His blood and His intervention
Delivered, I'm leaping among the reprised.
Jesus to You I dedicate my life's story,
Name above all names, You deserve all the glory.
