Reflections

by Kathleen Higham

A picture of the moon at night
Captured unexpectedly to see
Glancing off the lake, surreal
The moon reflected life to me.

For an instance silence held vigil
Released me from a paralytic stance
Holding up my camera to the sky
Caught God's visual not by chance.

Reflections sometimes haunting
Animals speak sounds of delight
The moon was perfectly aligned
My eyes mesmerized by the sight.

Life has come lazily at times
Then racing frantically to find
God writes this thought for you
When words come, touch my mind.

Staring at the moon so bright
Honoring a God who would create
A moment to describe your soul
Painting a picture of your fate.

Reflections sometimes haunting
Knowing life will always look back
With questions of doubt and wonder
Did I serve You, or did I lack?

It matters not the day or time
When to Him you peacefully submit
Euphoria comes briefly, with
Reflections of a heart that cannot quit.

For you have served, you have
As sure as the moon will shine
Reflections of your beautiful heart
Then He whispers, "You are mine."
