"The People Had A Mind To Work"

by Margaret Cagle

We are laborers together with God.
The Bible tells us this is true.
Those who are truly born again
Should also serve the Savior too.

We see in the Book of Nehemiah,
When they rebuilt Jerusalem's wall,
In fifty-two days, they finished
Because the workers gave their all.

"The people had a mind to work,"
We're told in Nehemiah, chapter four.
In the face of much opposition,
Their faith began to really soar.

Pastors would like a congregation
Full of members just like this.
If all members had a mind to work,
The pastor would overflow with bliss.

Do we work to please our pastor,
Or to please another dear member?
We need to have one goal in mind.
It's serving God, we must remember.
