The Waiting Room

by Kathleen Higham

So often I'm in wonder of His power
How lovely here I enjoy a quiet hour
Knowing always that she will be there
I close my eyes and whisper a prayer.

Outside the doors my troubles left behind
Reflecting on this peaceful moment I find
Many times an anxious heart can't rest
But when she comes to me I am blessed.

There is no time for worrying or gloom
When at last I sit inside this room
Waiting, waiting just to hear her say
All is well and wonderful this day.

I thank God for this lovely woman now
She soothes each and every soul somehow
With eloquence and dignity she hears
Then tenderly will hug away our fears.

The waiting room a sanctuary for me
Where tiny hearts are beating steadily
Gentle hands reach out and sweetly touch
Every mother loves her oh so much.

It doesn't matter why I come to you
Your promise is fulfilled in all you do
Surrounded by these radient faces I see
Your waiting room a perfect place to be.
