The Sight

by Kathleen Higham

It was such a solemn moment
The sun shimmering to my eyes
When a fiery ray held me captive
I stood completely mesmerized.

Oh what a breathless sight
This spiritual thought conspires
A carpet from the heavenly realm
Running to my deepest desires.

I simply could not look away
For peace had washed over me
Then this feeling of elation came
My God had allowed me to see.

These things He has created
Sometimes impossible to conceive
A remarkably beautiful awakening
How could anyone not believe?

Overwhelmed with incredible joy
Wanting so to write the sight
And God was surely faithful
As He warmed me with His light.

This is the story of a burning sky
Dancing to the water's shore
I am blessed, so very blessed
Who could ever imagine more?

Lord, thank you for this vision
I had a worried heart tonight,
but as always You have covered it
God, thank you for the sight.
