Just Wait

by Earl W Haskins © 2016

I long to learn the answers to
These trials that make the man
God's purposes I wish I knew
Too few I understand

He beckons me to vessels edge
To grow my Christian walk
It’s time to prove the faith I pledge
Confirm the words I talk

The devil brings upheaval near
While living as I should
What Satan meant for evil here
God works it for my good

Yet if I stumble, if I fail
What would my lesson be
He said whatever winds may gale
He'll always rescue me

We're walking now in one accord
Between the waves that form
I'm taught to focus on the Lord
And disregard the storm

Now here I wait for what’s in store
I stand on waters tall
Until He opens my next door
I’ll praise Him in this hall

Matthew 14:25-32, Genesis 50:20
