Filled

by Kathleen Higham

Filled

I am so empty Lord
Nothing left to give
Your Word burns inside me
The very reason I live.

But I sorrow, fear
Desiring to know
What is the outcome?
Where should I go?

I am so empty Lord
You feel my pain
Am I listening to You?
Do I teach in vain?

God I cry, lead me
Strengthen, for I am weak
Praying for understanding
It is You that I seek.

I am so empty Lord
Yet Your Word pours out
Book 1—2—3---
What is this about?

Let me be Your servant
Should I stay or leave?
Wanting just to follow You
In You I do believe.

There is such a burden
With the desire to teach
Wanting to please You
Give me one heart to reach.

I am so empty Lord
God, feel my thirst
But You have come, filled me
I had to be empty first.

Psalm 16:11
You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in your presence.
