What Would Joshua Say

by Kathleen Higham

What Would Joshua Say

What would Joshua's first words be?
A child who brought so many to see
From the moment he was conceived
God gave him courage, he believed.

I believe this sweet child would say
My Lord, my God made me this way
My life is His, this boy would pray
Joshua would not change one day.

But to the Father he would cry
Wipe the tear from my Mother's eye
His life is amazingly complete
For his heart rests at Jesus' feet.

He would thank God for his Dad
Knowing his Dad gave all he had
Then the church, friends and family
Saying, "I am still, but I am free."

There surely is no need for sorrow
Having lived past another tomorrow
Many come to walk this ground
Touch me, though I utter not a sound.

Understanding I am Heaven bound
People come here lost, but leave found
My Lord I trust You, oh I truly do
Come for me when I am through.

All the years I shared Your Word
Even though no words were heard
Thousands looked upon my face
Understanding God's Love and Grace.

What would Joshua's first words be?
Thank you Lord for this opportunity
And every moment You lived in me
"I am still, but I am freeā€¦.
