Through your eyes

I doubted myself for all of my life wondering why

Dealing with life always just wanting to sit and cry

But now I do not feel like I have to simply just cope

Because through your eyes I can see a great hope


Always looking backwards scared of my awful past

It dragging me into the dark, many times falling fast

But now I seem to look forward going toward the light

Because through your eyes I can see a future that shines bright


I have been beat down to the point I thought I would break

Wanting something more from this life that was always so fake

But I know something more now with your words that go unspoken

Because through your eyes I can see that I can't be broken


Emptiness and sorrow have dominated my life for so long

I have lived as many different people but none were very strong

But with you my shattered pieces are becoming whole

Because through your eyes I can see a kind, deserving soul


Wandering aimlessly through all of these terrible things

Just barely existing waiting for whatever life had to bring

But no longer do I have to wonder what is next for me

Because through your eyes I can see who I want to be


Never feeling worthy of what life had to offer me

Always thinking my only option in this life was to flee

But for the first time I have found that peaceful place

Because through your eyes I can see God's amazing grace
