At those sins of yesterday
He walked a tortuous path
And wiped our past away.
Now He goes before us
Knowing where we've been
No matter what we've done
He walked it for all men.
He never once looked back
Fell down without a sound
A heart that beat in anguish
His blood stained the ground.
We are well aware of this
A sinless man would die
On the Cross, He looked up
To the Father He would cry.
He never once looked back
When He stumbled into tomorrow
Carried the burden of the world
Then bore our endless sorrow.
He surely goes before us
Even to this very day
Especially in our darkest trials
His love will light the way.
"I go before you always"
There's nothing we will lack
Just follow in His footsteps
Dear ones do not look back.
"I go before you always, Come follow me and I will give you rest."
