Forever and a Day

by Kathleen Higham

Truly my soul waits
A heart filled with dread
Fluttering so frantically
As tears drench my bed.

I sigh quietly in the night
Questioning wondering why
You know I accept my life
But about my child, I cry.

Truly my soul waits
Not understanding, I long
God can You hear my prayer?
Did I do something wrong?

No, You do not punish
I feel Your presence near
But still Lord, I long
Help me, take away my fear.

My child belongs to You
Please heal her first, I pray
Silently my soul waits
Waits, forever and a day.

Psalm 62:1
"Truly my soul silently waits for God for God"
