All I Needed

As I awoke this morning and said my prayers before leaving the bed,
Giving forth with a big yawn, then slowly scratching my head.
My feet touched the floor and when I attempted to stand, I succeeded,
Although there just wasn't much energy in me, I had all that I needed.

I opened up my bible to study along with other inspirational reading,
Then on to the table because time had come for that morning feeding.
It wasn't what I'd hoped for but I was filled as the meal was completed,
Later thinking, I had no room to complain for it was all that I needed.

Then moving on to my desk preparing to pay out those monthly bills,
Knowing that it may take a little extra to cover the harsh winter chills.
Praying I'd be able to cover them all before those funds were depleted,
Though there was little left in my bank account, I had all that I needed.

There were times when things like this bothered me, but not anymore,
My life's different now and it's all because of The One I'm living for.
He promised me that I'd be with Him when from this world I retreated,
All that I've ever had is His Word on this and it's all that I've needed.
