Against the Wall

by Kathleen Higham

I am against the wall again
My head is bowed in prayer
Hearing what my daughter asked
"Mom, is God really there?"

Well, He absolutely was
Having been here before
Surrendered, surrendered to Him
Though a tear may hit the floor.

God, let me always lean
Hear my whispered moan
Trusting, always trusting You
Believing, I am not alone.

I am against the wall again
There is no place else to go
Weary, pondering all of this
Even still, one thing I know.

Life can come pretty hard
Especially when I fall
God is there and that is when
I feel Him most of all.

Lord I pray to know this
To Your heart I will call
Arms reach out, hold me close
When I am against the wall.
