Have You Considered My Prayer

by Kathleen Higham

Morning calls as prayers abound, but
Sometimes I weary of what I see
Still He fails me never, whispers
"Child, come follow Me."

Oh how I long to follow Him
But I whisper back, "Life's unfair"
And I am so, so tired Lord
"Have You considered my prayer?"

Still He fails me not, whispers
"I have plans for you dear one"
I cry, "How long must I wait?"
He says, "Wait until I am done."

"Well Lord, I am already done
And it seems I cannot go on
Have You considered my prayer?
Lord, where have You gone?"

He indulges me in my weakness
Then He speaks encouragement
"I am always right beside you
Did you really believe I went?"

"No, no forgive me Father
I know that You are there
But I can't help but wonder
Have You considered my prayer?"

The softest breeze caresses me
In the warmth of His holy sigh
"I have considered your prayer
Someday you will understand why."

This morning I thanked Him first
For every moment He has planned
He has considered my every prayer
The promise He holds in His hand.
