Deliverance

by Kathleen Higham

Failure is uniquely personal
If one lives long enough
You will feel its heartache
And it can be pretty rough.

Justice may disguise itself
As just becomes unjust
Then failures often follow
Bringing pain and loss of trust.

Nothing will ever break a heart
I pray you'll never know
The grief that inevitably comes
When a child decides to let go.

But justice belongs to Him
His promise from years ago
No matter how long it takes
I believe and know it is so.

Oh, do not plead for justice
Unceasingly give it away
Then wait on your Father
And receive this gift someday.

Deliverance from a sorrow
When He rescues you will see
Deliverance from the Savior
He has come to set us free.

Freedom fills the emptiness
With a gift that is so immense
The hand of God reaches out
A soul quivers with deliverance.
