Get Up And Go To Work

by Margaret Cagle

You can't make a living lying in bed,
So get up and work, you sleepy head!
You can take a vacation now and then,
But vacationing daily may be a sin.

Get up and work and earn your food.
Living off others is really rude.
Eight hours of sleep is all you need.
Go to work; you have a mouth to feed.

One can understand if you're really ill,
And you cannot work until you heal,
But lying in bed when you can work
Shows you're trying a duty to shirk.

Take your vitamins and maybe you will
Feel less tired and with energy fill.
Unless you're retired, from sleep arise.
It is God's way, the way that is wise.
