Fishers Of Men For Jesus

by Margaret Cagle

Some guys were casting nets into the sea
When Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee.
Simon and Brother Andrew fished by trade.
Today life-changing decisions were made.

Jesus said to them, "Come after Me;
I will make you fishers of men, you see."
It was a great decision, not just a whim.
They forsook their nets and followed Him.

When Jesus went a little ways thence,
He observed two more busy fishing gents.
They were James, the son of Zebedee
And his brother John in a ship on the sea.

Jesus called them both straightway.
They left their nets to go His way.
Jesus' first disciples, these men became.
Their lives would nevermore be the same.

Jesus also wants us to be fishers of men.
We can witness to strangers and even kin.
We can tell others of salvation's plan,
So let's spread the Gospel wherever we can.
