My Quest

by Donna Hendrix

Has anybody out there seen me?
I'm not sure anymore who I'm meant to be.
I once had a safe, secure little life
Where I was a loving mother and a contented wife
Now I move slowly ahead, hour by hour, day by day
Searching for answers, trying to find my way
For my dear husband has left his earthly home
The golden streets of heaven for to roam
So my safe little life that was once so secure
Has turned into days difficult to endure
The happy life that once was mine
Is now quite challenging to define
For the identity I've lived for so many years
Has at it's best become very unclear
I'm searching for the things that I like to do
Trying to remember old dreams that I once held true
My children have also now flown the nest
This is the time I should to go on my quest
To seek adventures for a brand new start
And it's clear to me they must come from my heart
So I will seek out God to navigate my course
Allow Him to be my heart's guiding source
Let my Savior lead me to regions unknown
Let Him guide me through dusk into the dawn.
