Beware Of The Mower

by Margaret Cagle

In the summertime, in our yards,
Many lawn mower engines roar.
That green grass wants to grow,
But we mow it down once more.

The grass cries, "I want to grow!
I want to be tall and make seed!
Beware of the mower! Here he comes!
Cutting me seems to be his need!"

Do we mow down the service efforts
Of new Christians who want to grow?
Do we say, "You really need to wait
Until more of the Bible you know?"

At times we see babes in Christ
As inadequate to do a good job.
We need to encourage their desires,
Or a blessing from them, we may rob.

We need to help all new Christians
And encourage them to sow the seed.
They can tell others about Jesus,
And in their efforts, we can lead.
