The Flat Tire

by Donna Hendrix

It's times like these that I feel so all alone
Wishing with all my heart that he wasn't gone
Sitting on the side of the road with a flat tire
Feeling like you're in a major crisis even though it's not that dire
It makes me feel so all alone in this great big world
Especially knowing that for twenty seven years, I was Larry's girl
No matter where I was or what I needed, all I had to do was call
He would drop everything without question and give to me his all
It means so much to know that someone cares so much for you
And that he's always there for you no matter what you do
As I sat quietly there waiting for help to arrive
I knew that just like every other little crisis, this too I would survive
I bowed my head and prayed for God to keep me safe
To love me and to guide me through my faith
I then realized I'm not all alone in this great big world
Especially knowing that for fifty years I have been God's little girl
No matter where I am or what I need all I have to do is call
He will drop everything without question and give to me His all
It means everything to know the Father cares so much for you
That no matter where you go or what you do, He will be there to see you through!!
