You Are My Hiding Place

by Donna Hendrix

Lord, when I feel this world coming down around me
And the road before me so thick with fog I cannot see
I silently go to my hiding place
Where my troubles I am able to face
For Jesus meets me with His warm embrace
And takes me far away from the human race
Here I can leave all the baggage of this world behind
Clear out the crevices of my mind
For Lord, this is where you speak to me
Tell me how you want my life to be
Bring sweet words into my heart
So that I may write them to impart
My place of comfort and guidance for my daily walk
Where you and I can really talk
It's the place where you fill my empty cup
So when back to the world it lifts me up
Yes God you are my quiet hiding place
That allows me this stressful world to face
