The Star

by Donna Hendrix

Twinkle, twinkle little star
How I wonder if you are?
The star that shone so bright
On that most miraculous night!

Did you lead wise men and shepherds to the sight
Where lay the world's guiding light
Where angel's sang in glorious tune
Under the stars and shining moon

Twinkle, twinkle little star
Do you know how special you are?
How you made the world aware
That one had come to us, our sins to bear

Did you shine brightly in the heavens above
To lead others to our Savior's love
To shine upon His place of birth
To show that He had come to earth

Twinkle, twinkle Bethlehem Star
Who led so many from afar
Your light shone brightly for all to see
Our amazing King sent to thee

The world lay all peaceful and still
As baby Jesus brings to us His goodwill
Born to man, our salvation to enable
As the beautiful star shined upon the stable!
