The Real Success Story

The secret to success is really no
secret as far as I'm concerned,
For there is a book and from it's
pages the truth can be learned.

Anyone can be successful if they'll
heed the advice on these pages,
Then prepared for any storm in life,
no matter how violent it rages.

This isn't the kind of success many
choose, although it's the best,
As we stand before the final Judge,
this one only, passes the test.

Recognition received on earth will
not help us be recognized there,
It can only come while on earth by
praying the sinner's prayer.

No doubt some of life's successful
people will enter heaven's gate,
They'll get there as everyone does,
on the path narrow and straight.

Jesus' laid out this path on pages
of the book on how to succeed,
Giving clear directions of the road
to follow in verses we read.

When I get an opportunity to tell my
success story, here's what I say,
Not by any works I've done, but it's
those of Jesus that paid my way.

I went to God's Word, following the
instructions that it revealed,
My name was written in the book of
life as my success was sealed.
