The Beacon

by Donna Hendrix

I've been searching near and far
For that brightly shining eastern star
The one that leads to our Savior's love
The one that beckons to our Savior from above

The star is hidden from my sight
Life's fog so thick, I can't see the light
On the horizon I can see a glow
But through the haze the star won't show

Life can be so complicated that we lose sight
We can become lost in the darkness of night
But if we keep our sights on the Son of Man
He can keep us moving toward God's plan

For when I take time to daily seek my maker
There is nothing in life that cannot be undertaken
His star will shine brightly as a guiding beacon
That will lovingly lead our relationship to deepen

Now on the horizon I can see the beautiful star
Leading me and beckoning to me from afar
My child, continue to follow God's Holy light
For He will bring you out of the darkness of night!
