I pulled a pretty china cup from my cupboard this morn
White trimmed in red with the word joy to adorn
Quietly, I wondered how a cup of joy would taste
Not one little drop would I want to waste
Sitting next to joy was the cup of peace
Drinking from it all my anxieties would cease
Next in line sat the cup of hope
A sip of this could really help me cope
The cup of love was the last in a set
With a belly full of love I should never fret
As I was deciding which cup to use
Pondering the fruits, I did deduce
When you have the Holy Spirit living in you
Peace, joy, hope, and love reside there too
There's no choice of which one to partake
It's already within you for goodness sake!
Let the Spirit work in you for all the world to see
The fruits of His labor shining through you and me
For with God there is given to life a new lease
And in light of any circumstance you can have joy and peace
So for all of those who live by the Spirit within
Shine your light brothers and sisters, so others may be akin!
