This New War

The enemy is strong in me
These chains don't break so easily

He said faith isn't real until you are empowered
To do what you could not before
So I confess that I am nothing but a coward
That shames his king's honor

He wants me to believe
To break these chains on my own
To find the strength in me
He's leaving me alone

Jesus, I can hear now
You are the one I've been looking for
Savior, I think I'm ready now
To heed your words and wage this war

Bless me and keep your angels close
I need you with me lord
Save me like you did before
I need your grace once more

My turn to walk the righteous path
The one that's straight and just
His steps are the ones I will follow
And His will I shall trust
