Lovely Crepe Myrtles

by Margaret Cagle

How can I just mope around
In a sad state of gloom
When majestic crepe myrtles
Are brightly in full bloom?

God gives us beautiful flowers,
Which bloom for His reason,
And different plants bloom
In their own appointed season.

Crepe myrtles come in bloom
In the sunny summertime.
They beautify the landscape,
And we enjoy them so sublime.

They bloom in lavender and pink,
Rosy red and white blooms too.
I see all these different colors
Blooming nearby; that's true.

God's artwork seen in flowers
Surpasses artists of all time.
I feast my eyes upon His beauty
Of these crepe myrtles so sublime.

As I pondered on the great beauty
Of these flowers so lovely to see,
I simply concluded this fact.
Only God could make this tree!

Of these flowers so lovely to see,
