The indignity of old age,
Comes to sinner, saint, and sage.
Oh the indignity of speech,
When simple words seem out of reach.
Oh the indignity of shame,
When he forgets his mother's name.
Oh the indignity of pain,
When all suffering seems in vain.
Oh the indignity of fear,
With lifelong friends no longer near.
Oh the indignity of mind,
When sanity is undermined.
Oh the indignity of death,
When man expires his final breath.
Man's indignities now are past,
For God has called him home at last.
