Pumpkin Spice And Everything Nice

by Margaret Cagle

Pumpkin spice flavors get very popular
Around the month of October every year.
There's pumpkin spice coffee and also cake,
And there's pumpkin spice candles, I hear.

Some people seem to get carried away
With all the flavors like pumpkin spice.
They like cool weather and colorful leaves,
And the change of the season seems nice.

Have you ever tasted of just plain pumpkin,
Without being made into a pumpkin pie?
Without adding the spices and the sugar,
That pumpkin tastes awful, I can't deny.

We can be just like that plain pumpkin
If we don't have the right ingredient inside.
Everyone on earth needs the Savior.
In all our hearts, He wants to abide.

Just like we can make use of pumpkin
After we add the sugar and the spice,
The Lord can use us in His service,
If we accept Jesus, our sin sacrifice.
