Church

We come here each Sunday to meet with The Boss,
And promise Him gladly we'll carry The Cross,
To be His disciples, His vessels for change,
A powerful army, His troops on the range.
But all this bravado is far from the truth,
We're being found out, as He asks for the proof,
Our intentions are fine, but our practice is not,
We are withholding all that we've got.

Repentence is needed, so lets start again,
Arise from our torpor, His life to attain,
We're stuck in a quagmire, we need to break free,
Strike out at the devil who binds us with glee.
We can become what The Lord has in mind,
Throw off the shackles that tether and bind,
Releasing captives, with love and respect,
Our walk with Jesus, to grow and perfect.
