A Poet's Prayer

Lord, give me the heart and mind of a poet
To see the world in the ways that other don't know it
Please let me place your words on paper with pen
Let others see that the Spirit lives within

Lord let your compassion and love filter through me
So that your mercy and grace, others can easily see
Let me use the gifts that you bestow
To help others seek your love to know

Lord I seek your will each and every day
That I may walk and talk in your perfect way
Grant me your wisdom and confidence as I see your words
And place your messages on paper so they can be heard
