Do Not Lose Hope

by Kathleen Higham

A ray of sunshine bright
Casts a shadow of delight
Leaves sway gently after night
Do not lose hope.

Awaking slightly unaware
To a moment God will share
Having slept through every care
Do not lose hope.

Life has pierced me to the core
Another day waits beyond my door
"God I cannot bear much more!"
Do not lose hope.

Still my heart, deep in prayer
To the Father, always there
Even though it seems not fair
Do not lose hope.

But His Word comes in silence
So very quiet, yet intense
God's presence is immense
Do not lose hope.

Within, within, His power
No longer shall I cower
Rising up to embrace the hour
Do not lose hope.

No longer will I speak
Nor acknowledge words so weak
An anchor for my soul, I seek
For I have not lost hope.

Hebrews 6:19
"We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure."
