Keep The Power Source Clean

by Margaret Cagle

I was very much surprised
When I tried to start my car.
There was no power there,
And I would have to walk far.

A good Samaritan rescued me
When he saw my trouble then.
He lifted up the car's hood,
And then he started to grin.

"See these battery cables?
Corroded! They look so bad!
Let me go back in the store.
I'll get a coke from my dad."

"Wow! He must be thirsty!"
I thought as I read the label,
But he poured the big cola
On that corroded battery cable.

"Keep your power source clean
If you want your car to start!"
As the car started like new,
I remarked, "You are so smart!"

Saints, how's our power source?
Dirty we must not ever keep it.
We will surely reap what we sow.
Sow corruption and we will reap it.

Let's confess our sins daily,
And read God's Holy Word and pray.
Let's keep our power source clean.
Pleasing to God, we should stay.
