Abiding Peace

I have a peace way down inside
That my Savior gave to me
When He saved my sinful soul,
And from sin, He set me free.

Trials may come and threaten
To take that abiding peace away,
But Jesus freely gave it to me.
Praise God! It's there to stay.

Though sorrow may make its visit,
I can reach way down within
And find that comforting peace,
And over sorrow, it will win.

The Holy Spirit dwells within me
And gives me comfort and peace,
And that peace is ever abiding.
Never, never will it cease!
