"Come Up Hither!"

by Margaret Cagle

One day Jesus will return
To take His children home.
Sorrow, woe, and pain will end,
And no more in sin we'll roam.

"Come up hither!" He may say,
As we meet Him in the air.
That long awaited trumpet sound
Will greet us with its blare.

"Come up hither!" are the words
I think that we will then hear.
Whether alive or dead in Christ,
We will meet our Savior so dear.

In Revelation, to the two witnesses
As they ascended to Heaven in a cloud,
He commanded, "Come up hither,"
In a voice from Heaven so loud!

"Come up hither!" Such exiting words,
With comfort and welcoming cheer.
We'll be drawn up like a magnet
To our great Lord and Savior so dear!
