A Christian's life is like a candle
That is lit and has a flame.
It burns as it shines forth a light
And seeks no wealth or fame.
Some may say, "It shines so bright.
This light may bring me shame.
Maybe I should hide this light,
And maybe cover up the flame."
Winds of temptation may blow,
And it flickers now and then,
Old Satan may try to put it out
With his many strongholds of sin.
Let us keep that candle burning,
So that others may see the light.
They will surely need the light too
When they face the darkest night.
Someday God's light will lead you
To a home so bright and fair
Where you will never need a candle,
For there is no night there.
