Here i sit in thought again
Through my window another sight
A squirrel stretched and upside-down
And he's cruising for a fight
For he is eating very frantically
And throwing seed about
And birds are looking quizzically
Wishing one of us would shout
For they know that the feeder is theirs
The squirrel has no right to intrude
And yet he poses upside-down
And greedily steals their food
And it comes to me in the morning light
That we too turn around
And out the window logic goes
When there's something else we've found
And we may believe we made ourselves
What a successful life we've achieved
It seems that we are upside-down
We forgot when we first believed
And like the squirrel we're out of bounds
But God knows what He made
And over and over He forgives us
But what a price He paid
As strange as it may seem to me
I'm feeling upside-down
And fervently I pray to God
Please turn me back around
