Testimonies For Christ

Did you ever stand and testify
For Jesus, your Lord and King?
Did you mean what you said?
Glory to God, did it bring?

Even few-words testimonies
Can sometimes mean so much.
We can praise almighty God
And some heart, we may touch.

We have heard of John Newton,
Of his slave-trading behavior.
He said, "I was a great sinner,
But Jesus is a great Savior!"

He testified through hymns
Like the classic, "Amazing Grace."
He wrote other wonderful hymns.
Among the clergy, he had a place.

"I am crucified with Christ,"
Said Paul, "nevertheless I live."
He gave a great living testimony,
More than many Christians give.

We all can stand and testify
For our great Lord and Savior,
And we can also live a testimony
By displaying Christian behavior.
