He Already Knew

I pray to feel Your presence
As if I already died
For a glimpse of a smile on Your face
I thought of it and I cried

I pray for strength to help me change
For I know You love me so
And Hold me oh so tightly Lord
Especially when I let go

I pray that I would come to You
For forgiveness of my sin
But You had already forgiven it
While my sin was still within

I pray that You would ease my pain
When I'm filled with deep regret
But again You had already suffered it
When You washed away my debt

I pray that You would lift me up
And always hear my call
But You have lifted me countless times
Before I even fall

I pray that You would comfort me
And You have done that too
You heard my prayer before I prayed
As always You already knew
