Teenager

Pitter patter upon the floor
Has become a sonic boom
And the slamming of the door
Of his clothes filled room

Housing once teddy bears
Now is disaster strewn
And greyer are our hairs
With every passing moon

Singing tunes just because
Has become an argument
Sweet innocence that was
Resides now turbulent.

Beyond parental control
We'll reach common ground
There resides a sweeter soul.
My child will be found.

And as he now searches
Now and then I still see
The former child lurches
To what I hope will be

With my faith and prayers
He'll find integrity
Apart from angered flares
The man I know he'll be.
