Last Minute Instructions

by Margaret Cagle

"I need my keys; I need my map.
I need my heavy overcoat.
Don't forget to feed my bird.
Mail those letters that I wrote."

Last minute instructions we give
When a long trip we start to take.
Sometimes we tend to get caught up
With last minute plans we make.

How about our final destination?
Prepare now! We must not wait!
We need to accept Jesus as Savior,
Or one day it may be too late.

When our final moments come,
They may come suddenly and fast,
For nobody really ever knows
Which breath will be his last.
